Can I use a leather sling in the rain? |

Yes, you can certainly do so. You should take steps to make sure the leather is not ruined by excessive exposure. Just treat a leather sling just like you would a good pair of boots. Make sure it is protected from the elements. The real damage is done to leather when it loses oil, and then the oil is replaced by water. This can lead to drying out the leather, and subsequent cracking. Once a season, apply some quality leather protectant to the sling (not Neet's Foot Oil, it removes the color) and forget about it. If you do this, you will be rewarded with not only the best sling design out there, but years of service.
