What oil should I use for the leather?  E-mail

As needed, apply any good leather oil - the only product we do not recommend is Neet's Foot oil.  This can remove some of the color from the leather. The leather is high grade "bridle and rein" leather.  Most saddle makers use olive oil as it works fine on leather and it is easy to find (just don't get caught taking it from the kitchen).

If you are in doubt, test it on a small area and if you see color on your rag, stop using the product.

Make sure you maintain it as you would any other leather product (your boots, for example). It will only be damaged if you let it dry out over time, then the next time it gets wet it will crack (because the water bursts the cells in the leather when they are dried out).

The high quality leather we use is extremely durable, and should last a lifetime if properly maintained.
